Friends Lake, 3 miles long, is one of the only lakes with no public access. Quieter than some of the other lakes (motor boats allowed, but no jet skis). Make sure to stop by the renowned Friends Lake Inn for fine dining & lodgings. A great way to enjoy the rugged beauty of the Adirondacks is on the back of a horse at Circle B Ranch which offers guided horse rides through woodland and meadows with spectacular mountain views. You’ll also find pony rides for the younger ones, and riding lessons for students of all ages and abilities, Hay and Winter sleigh rides. Or play a round of golf at beautiful Cronin’s Golf course which travels along the Hudson River! Located only 20 minutes to Gore Mountain, this area is a favorite for winter skiers to have the best of both worlds while enjoying the true solitude of the Adirondacks.
