My family has always been involved in the construction trades and property management, so becoming a Realtor back in 2008 was somewhat of a natural fit for me I guess. I have always enjoyed the sales and operations side of business. My first job as a teenager was working various positions at a family owned homemade ice cream restaurant where I found a passion for the restaurant business. Working my way up I eventually landed in the kitchen as a cook. It seemed like such a prestigious role to be the cook. I continued to gravitate towards restaurant jobs over the years. My interests and experiences brought me to Providence, RI where I earned a Bachelors in Culinary Arts and Food Service Marketing & Management from Johnson & Wales University. I took that degree to Colorado to be near my extended family where I worked in upper level management of convention hotels, national chain restaurants, and privately held companies before returning to New York to be closer to home. My extensive background in the service industry led me to a position of substitute teacher in Culinary Arts at a career and technical school. This chance opportunity opened my eyes to a whole new career path, and a passion for teaching grew. I earned my Masters degree in Special Education and hold permanent certifications in Special Ed, Family & Consumer Sciences, Food & Nutrition, and Business & Distributive Education. Born and raised in the Albany area, my extended family has always had a deep connection to the Adirondacks, especially to Lake George, Schroon Lake, and Paradox Lake. It was on Paradox Lake that first I met my wife, Rebecca. Together we have both started our own businesses from scratch, raised a family, and called Schroon Lake our permanent home for over 20 years. I have enjoyed the bulk of my years as an educator teaching Business Management and Home & Careers at a public K-12 school with an awesome international student exchange program, and an exciting college bridge program. In 2016 purchased and renovated an aging landmark commercial property and created Schroon Lake Wine & Liquor, LLC., restoring the building to mirror the beauty of the Adirondacks, which continues to blend into the community and the neighborhood. I'm always keeping my eye out for the next investment opportunity. Part of the reason I became a Realtor was to have access to that information and to use my tools to evaluate the best options. Though our own lakefront home was a purchase made through private sale, it was my experience in the market that led us to successful negotiations and eventual home ownership on the water. We love living in Schroon Lake and waking up to the beautiful Adirondack mountains.
